The Praslin Heritage Route project has been undertaken by the Seychelles Heritage Foundation (SHF) with the support of Raffles Praslin hotel and the participation of various partners and individuals on Praslin.  The project was part of a series of similar heritage trails or routes which the SHF has undertaken in various parts of the country with private sector participation, especially of tourism establishments.  Consisting mainly in the installation of signposts at sites of heritage significance and the publication of informative brochures/booklets, the project aims at promoting Seychelles rich heritage and tourism potential as well as to provide an educational attraction to the local community.

The Praslin Heritage Route project consists of twenty-five sites which have been signposted and the publication of an information booklet in both English and French, available in various tourism establishments and souvenir shops on the island.
Alongside the Heritage Route project, Raffles Praslin has also undertaken the sponsorship of the annual “Heritage Award” which is baptized “Raffles Seychelles Heritage Award”. The aim of the award is to further sensitize our children and youth by raising awareness towards the Historical Values and socio-economic importance of our heritage.

In recognition of the remarkable contribution Raffles Praslin has made towards Seychelles heritage and specifically that of Praslin, it was with honor that the Seychelles Heritage Foundation presented a Trophy to Mr. Simon Hirst the General Manager of the hotel.
